A suggestion I'm starting to see more and more is the "add front lines from hoi4" suggestion. I am of the opinion that the suggestion on it's own is pretty bad, and I'll explain why, and give my version of the suggestion. The following is a TLDR on why I don't think it'd make sense. It doesn't make sense for 90% of AOH3's time-span. Front lines simply wouldn't be viable for most of a campaign anyway. If a front-line mechanic is used for the entire game, it may jeopardize the AI's difficulty. For example look at AOH2, the AI spreads itself incredibly thin early game making it incredibly easy. Now let me put my own spin on the suggestion that would…

Since laws are related to technology, I think you can use laws this way: At the beginning of the game, each country has a law that affects the AI of that country so that during wars, they primarily strive for direct clashes with the enemy's army. When unlocking the "early tank" technology, new laws are unlocked: after changing this law, the AI of the country that changes this law, instead of looking for direct skirmishes, primarily seeks to occupy border provinces of enemy

This Idea Proposes that certain laws will be available for certain religions And Ideologies, Below Is An Example For A Theocratic Muslim Civilization: (note that These Islamic Laws Will Only Appear/Be Available for Theocratic Countries with Islam As Their Official Religion) Church School Reforms Are Replaced With Madrasa's Instead (as madrasas were also a basic form of education in the islamic golden age) Monetary Policies Now Have Islamic Currency As An Option Of Law Taxation System Now Has Zakat And Jizya As A Law Option Judicial System Now Has Syariah (Sharia) Courts And Under Women's Right's You Could Have…

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but I think AI should target nations that are within their formable. For example if poland is trying to reunite the polish-lithuanian commonwealth, then they will target nations like ukraine, belarus, and lithuania first.

It would be good if during the war, recruiting units was only possible on our territory, but recruiting mercenaries should also be possible in occupied enemy territories

Something that annoys me a lot is the annoying people in the comments on this forum asking for content that's already in another game. It's stupid and annoying, and will just make AOH3 less unique. AOH3 is a original independent project, if you want content from HOI4 or any other paraslop game, go play them. Stop demanding lukasz to add it. For example frontlines, which would make ZERO sense in the context of AOH3's gameplay has been suggested so much that it's just obnoxious. Or for another example people demanding a historical gamemode, which again doesn't make sense on a development level, lukasz would have to completely rework the idea of the scenario system …

Instead of ideologies which doesnt make sense to implement as they are simply philosophies, government & economic systems should be implemented, and it should be possible to have a communist government (which is a one party state, communism is an economic system not a governmental one) with a capitalist economy (as in the case with china) Two types of systems Governmental and Economic (and Administrative, will make a seperate post for this) This is a simplified list and simplified effects. I will make another post for a more complex system with more detail and more effects, for if you want to implement a more in depth and complex system (which would be…

Hello friends, I played aoh2 at the time, I know that aoh3 is going to be released and they are asking for ideas about it. Military bases came to my mind. We will ask other countries and if they want, we will establish them on any land. These will allow us to pass through that country without any military permission. We will be able to plant things like atomic bombs in that country. If another country attacks, our military base will fight against the country where we have placed a military base, and if we want, we will be able to enter that war and put our military base on it. We will join the war on the side of the country where we base ourselves... Can you correct me if…

I feel like this doesn't need too much explaining but I'll explain anyways. When the game is in a playable state (in other words, close to the finish line of development) lukasz should allow mod developers early access to the game. It can't be understated that AOH3 will rely on modding, and having tons of mods available from launch would make AOH3's launch absolutely amazing.

This Terrain type is going to exist for mountain ranges that were notoriously impossible to conquer, more specifically: Tibet The Alps Ethiopian Highlands Andes Mountains All these are pretty much impenetrable walls of stone that have severely affected both the diplomacy and geopolitics of their respective regions, i suggest some bonuses for this that represent that: Countries with more than 50% of their provinces being of this terrain type get many bonuses and debuffs Any Invading army loses soldiers quickly with a rate of 200 per month in this terrain and is severely slowed down (armies usually lost a lot of men to hars…

I Feel like the 1440 start date is Uniquely a EU4 Thing, So I Feel Like MAYBE adding a later/Earlier start date for A Unique Feel, preferably Later, But then again there are many scenarios and no real start date so 🤷🏽♂️

It probably sounds corny, but I suggest adding an animation for the flag mask, as if the flag is waving in the wind. Simply put, convert flag_rect into a sprite of 2-3 images with the effect of "waves" replacing each other every second. This similiar effect was present, for example, in the old (2D) global strategies of Paradox, but now, unfortunately, it isn't used in strategies at all, however, this effect complements the UI well. Here's an example of how this animation worked in HoI2 (but I mean at least the animation for the flag mask, not for the whole flag):

One thing that I desperately want in this game is Newspaper which report events both generic and non-generic, player-made and non-player made, it would be fun to see our actions described by newspapers just like in Victoria 2. Newspapers will report on events like: 1. Politics: The prime option, newspapers will report articles regarding diplomacy, treaties, wars, concessions and crises. 2. Natural disasters: Newspapers can also report on natural disasters such as Hurricanes, Droughts, Fire, Sandstorms which affect a region of a country or some events like plagues which can possibly affect whole world. 3. Historical events: Depending on scenarios Newspa…

Laws and reforms-expansion It would be nice to expand the categories of reforms that can be carried out in the state. My suggestions: 1) Religious policy: Unorganized confession->Primacy of the Church->State religion->Separation of Church and State->Secularism->State Atheism 2) Colonialism: No colonies -> Development of the frontier -> Overseas colonization 3) Ownership of the means of production: Personal property->Private property rights->Development of Trusts->Supremacy of monopolies->State property->Public property 4) Military training: Militia->Feudal conscription->Organized mercenary->Regular…

I Suggest a "change the Government" when creating a vassal option so youre vassal isnt Democratic when you are Communist. Also when you form a nation its often Democratic and not the same Government type like before

Global Events are Events that every civilization in the scenario receives. They can happen with a "neutral" recipient that doesn't make the event exclusive to one civilization but every Civilization receives the event, it can be used to make news events, and very useful for scenario and modding. Another differences between global events and common events that we have seen in the Aoh3 videos on YouTube are that global Events don't have a specific location shown under the title (for example: "Event in Paris" if France receives the event) and most importantly, like civilization exclusive events in Aoh2, global events pop up instantly and don't wait for the …

Federations I would love to have a form of government of federations. These would differ from the unitary governments in the cases of internal affairs, and the player would be able to choose if it wants to play as the national or the regional government. If playing as the national government, the player could enforce laws on the states that are the part of the federation. They would have the ability to expel states from the union or request other nations joining it. The player would manage external affairs, finances, the military and the autonomy of their states. Playing as the national government, the player could even decide to turn the federation into a un…

This will only involve the features that have NOT been added yet from aoh2 to aoh3, so buckle up Old Event Creator (just fix it and add way more triggers, conditions and outcomes, also fix the date issue with events, a JPG event creator is less flexible and Practically impossible to use, much much worse than just fixing the old one and adding all them triggers) Old Leader Creator (Self explanatory, maybe you could customize which year the leader rules, add a custom portrait etc etc and customize the bonuses, JUST MAKE IT WORK THIS TIME) Ability To Edit Starting Game Scenarios (Just FIX IT THIS TIME, IT DOESN'T WORK FOR AOH2!) Ability to change city nam…

so lately everyone has been begging Lukasz jakowski to add a frontline system for the more modern post ww1 scenarios, i have been no exception, but here is why it is so hard to implement and possible solutions that i thought of 1- How will the AI work?! its labour intensive to make TWO AI'S for TWO DIFFERENT PERIODS making a good AI is already Extremely hard and is probably the number 1 thing Lukasz spends his time adjusting and working on, AI Peace Treaties, Diplomacy, And War Declaration are already extremely difficult to add with the current system, now imagine having to program TWO DIFFERENT AI For Post ww1, which would be a nightmare to even think …

I would like to see a more in-depth system for alliances. I think that it would be a good idea to add the ability to choose a purpose for an alliance, example being economic like eu, or military like nato or csto. I would also like to see differentiating between alliances and international organizations like the U.N. or the arab league. Adding stuff like this can help with bordergore and unrealistic scenarios, ex. making eu in the scenario editor and then watching as russia becomes a hot mess. Please consider these ideas, and sorry for poor english.

(Pretty good video on it, btw) Being very brief, each POP has a job, a culture and needs. A farmer, would work at the farms. An artisan, would work on crafts. (I forgot the name) POPs are your population available to use. (There would only be male pops at the start, but if you pass the women rights reform, female pops would be also available.) Just the basics.

It would be cool when there will be also historical events that you can turn on and off. it would be nice if there would be a gamemode. something like : you get elected to being a president of a country that isnt too good like Usa or Russia. it would be cool if it was something like poland. so after you get elected you have to improve the economy, military... and after some time. (lets say something between 100 and 200 turns) Some countries start to declare war on eachother for example: Russia attacks Latvia (i would say ukraine but it is too much like real life.), Germany attacks austria... the country the player is playing can choose to attack other countries or s…
