It probably sounds corny, but I suggest adding an animation for the flag mask, as if the flag is waving in the wind. Simply put, convert flag_rect into a sprite of 2-3 images with the effect of "waves" replacing each other every second. This similiar effect was present, for example, in the old (2D) global strategies of Paradox, but now, unfortunately, it isn't used in strategies at all, however, this effect complements the UI well. Here's an example of how this animation worked in HoI2 (but I mean at least the animation for the flag mask, not for the whole flag):

One thing that I desperately want in this game is Newspaper which report events both generic and non-generic, player-made and non-player made, it would be fun to see our actions described by newspapers just like in Victoria 2. Newspapers will report on events like: 1. Politics: The prime option, newspapers will report articles regarding diplomacy, treaties, wars, concessions and crises. 2. Natural disasters: Newspapers can also report on natural disasters such as Hurricanes, Droughts, Fire, Sandstorms which affect a region of a country or some events like plagues which can possibly affect whole world. 3. Historical events: Depending on scenarios Newspa…

Laws and reforms-expansion It would be nice to expand the categories of reforms that can be carried out in the state. My suggestions: 1) Religious policy: Unorganized confession->Primacy of the Church->State religion->Separation of Church and State->Secularism->State Atheism 2) Colonialism: No colonies -> Development of the frontier -> Overseas colonization 3) Ownership of the means of production: Personal property->Private property rights->Development of Trusts->Supremacy of monopolies->State property->Public property 4) Military training: Militia->Feudal conscription->Organized mercenary->Regular…

I Suggest a "change the Government" when creating a vassal option so youre vassal isnt Democratic when you are Communist. Also when you form a nation its often Democratic and not the same Government type like before

Global Events are Events that every civilization in the scenario receives. They can happen with a "neutral" recipient that doesn't make the event exclusive to one civilization but every Civilization receives the event, it can be used to make news events, and very useful for scenario and modding. Another differences between global events and common events that we have seen in the Aoh3 videos on YouTube are that global Events don't have a specific location shown under the title (for example: "Event in Paris" if France receives the event) and most importantly, like civilization exclusive events in Aoh2, global events pop up instantly and don't wait for the …

Federations I would love to have a form of government of federations. These would differ from the unitary governments in the cases of internal affairs, and the player would be able to choose if it wants to play as the national or the regional government. If playing as the national government, the player could enforce laws on the states that are the part of the federation. They would have the ability to expel states from the union or request other nations joining it. The player would manage external affairs, finances, the military and the autonomy of their states. Playing as the national government, the player could even decide to turn the federation into a un…

This will only involve the features that have NOT been added yet from aoh2 to aoh3, so buckle up Old Event Creator (just fix it and add way more triggers, conditions and outcomes, also fix the date issue with events, a JPG event creator is less flexible and Practically impossible to use, much much worse than just fixing the old one and adding all them triggers) Old Leader Creator (Self explanatory, maybe you could customize which year the leader rules, add a custom portrait etc etc and customize the bonuses, JUST MAKE IT WORK THIS TIME) Ability To Edit Starting Game Scenarios (Just FIX IT THIS TIME, IT DOESN'T WORK FOR AOH2!) Ability to change city nam…

so lately everyone has been begging Lukasz jakowski to add a frontline system for the more modern post ww1 scenarios, i have been no exception, but here is why it is so hard to implement and possible solutions that i thought of 1- How will the AI work?! its labour intensive to make TWO AI'S for TWO DIFFERENT PERIODS making a good AI is already Extremely hard and is probably the number 1 thing Lukasz spends his time adjusting and working on, AI Peace Treaties, Diplomacy, And War Declaration are already extremely difficult to add with the current system, now imagine having to program TWO DIFFERENT AI For Post ww1, which would be a nightmare to even think …

I would like to see a more in-depth system for alliances. I think that it would be a good idea to add the ability to choose a purpose for an alliance, example being economic like eu, or military like nato or csto. I would also like to see differentiating between alliances and international organizations like the U.N. or the arab league. Adding stuff like this can help with bordergore and unrealistic scenarios, ex. making eu in the scenario editor and then watching as russia becomes a hot mess. Please consider these ideas, and sorry for poor english.

(Pretty good video on it, btw) Being very brief, each POP has a job, a culture and needs. A farmer, would work at the farms. An artisan, would work on crafts. (I forgot the name) POPs are your population available to use. (There would only be male pops at the start, but if you pass the women rights reform, female pops would be also available.) Just the basics.

It would be cool when there will be also historical events that you can turn on and off. it would be nice if there would be a gamemode. something like : you get elected to being a president of a country that isnt too good like Usa or Russia. it would be cool if it was something like poland. so after you get elected you have to improve the economy, military... and after some time. (lets say something between 100 and 200 turns) Some countries start to declare war on eachother for example: Russia attacks Latvia (i would say ukraine but it is too much like real life.), Germany attacks austria... the country the player is playing can choose to attack other countries or s…

I suggest implementing a more elaborate administration system and administrative units in the game. This system would consist of a list of functions or responsibilities, such as civil administration, organization of troops, educational and local economic responsibilities, among others. Players could assign these roles to different types of administrative units, naming them accordingly. This would allow for the creation of municipalities, states, counties, etc., each with their own specific responsibilities and functions. The autonomy of these units would be determined and managed by the players.

Regions could be governed differently: You could select mulitiple new conquered tiny provinces to create bigger subdivisions within the state, which have different types: Colony (Only 5% of the population has to be the ethnicity of the civilization to core it, but you can't recruit manpower) Province (normal) Autonomous Region (You are more limited when making decisions over this region) Kingdom ( For example the UK could have the type Kingdom for it's subdivisions Wales, Scotland, Ireland)

Hi Lukasz, I think the domain idea could be good, for example, the mechanics of spreading our ideology to other countries and then being able to become vassals. (sorry i use google translate)

An idea for the age of civilization For each ideology you can put several subcategories For example, we have several types of communist ideologies in the world, such as Soviet communism, which consisted of several socialist republics. This can be for other ideologies as well And to choose any ideology, you have to choose a subset of it This choice has a great impact on the country's economy To change our ideology, we can increase our influence in the country and govern our ideology through elections. * Or you can rule your ideology with a revolution.

Caravans Basically idea that'd be visual, in game there'll be ships swimming around I believe there should be such thing on land too, basically working the same way as ships but instead it'd be caravans moving between certain points on land. War justification/Casus Belli I think it's the 2nd or 3rd time I'm writing about this one, but I think that any way of needing to justify your war would be great, it'd slow down gameplay a bit and force player to do something while also making game a bit harder and spontaneous as player would have to wait for justification to be prepared and some things might happen in the meantime and make it more immersive whi…

the idea is: sea provinces would have resources too, with a maximum of 4 countries controlling resources of one sea province, maybe in a future update Lukasz could add more sea provinces the sea resources are: fish oil sand gravel copper nickel these may seem a bit random except for some, but these are actual resources that can be extracted, you don't have to add all of them, only fish and oil is enough

The introduction of a certain maximum of provinces that a country can control is a solution to uncontrolled and ugly map painting by both the player and bots. Exceeding the administrative efficiency indicator threatens to reduce recruits received, taxes and increase the strength and likelihood of riots/uprisings/rebellions. The solution lies in creating vassals and increasing administrative efficiency through technology/reforms and laws/buildings.

Hi. First, I used a translator. Please understand. I remember that the AI in AOH2 was not that good. In AOH3, let the AI make more careful and complex decisions. ( I think Lucas is already doing well in other areas. ) For example, AI must make slightly different decisions in each country. (Based on the modern era) If an AI country plays a superpower like the USA or Russia, it will be able to play more aggressively. However, for relatively small countries or countries with many hostile forces nearby,AI behavior must change. Let's assume that in the game, the player's country is China, and the AI country is playing North Korea. If a situat…

Will there be market like in Victoria III, like Prussian Market, Austrian Market, Time Trades (per 5 days or per month, like subscription)? And of course better relations because of trade.

Lucasz, a major issue with AoH2 is the AI in war, negotiations, and diplomacy. These should be addressed and fixed/implemented in AoH3, and if so, will greatly improve the gameplay and quality of the game, and if not, will significantly reduce the quality and enjoyment of the game. Please take the time to read all of this 1. The AI almost always goes for total territorial domination in war, especially against other AI, and rarely settles for peace without capturing every piece of territory of the enemy. They tend to stretch their forces and territory greatly and chase unrealistic and illogical conquest like overseas territory, etc. And even when it does settle for pe…

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to propose some dynamics that could make the game more interesting and realistic even in modern and future eras. Advanced Alliances In an alliance, the nation with the highest ranking is the leader of the alliance and can accept or expel alliance members based on relations. When a nation doesn't intervene alongside an ally in war, it worsens relations with all alliance members. Possibility, perhaps with a specific technology, to form alliances even between very powerful or distant nations, from the 1900s onwards. Possibility for nations to join existing alliances. Possibility for a nation to leave an a…

Hey I know it is kinda late to propose new mechanics but I was thinking of adding a new mechanic of centralization wich would be a huge early game goal for players, this mechanic would be possible only if enabled in the editor and changed into different things ( whatever they want like industrialization or globalization ), it would work like on a percentage of each side from -100/ massively decentralized state to +100/massively centralized state with the more you go on each side the more you get different effects with the decentralized effects reducing maintenance and building costs but adding more corruption and reducing legacy points while the centralized path adds more…

lukasz, can you make it so that if an ai controlled country is attacking a defensive alliance(like the allies or the axis) you will have to defeat all of the members first or if the winning score against the alliance is at the point of peacedealing then the ai can make a peace deal? itll be a bit more realistic and a bit less bordergore especially if the alliance includes 2 countries bordering eachother.
