Some more context:

Pretty much, several countries are at war. It is all that is left of NATO (which is only nations in europe now) vs several countries that i call, "the eastern bloc." The eastern bloc isn't really an alliance, as most countries aren't allies or even at war with each other. I would consider Belgium the leader of NATO, and Ionia the "leader" of the eastern bloc. (yes this is horrible border gore)

Update: this is what the Xinjiang Protectorate (formally america), looks like after a full scale invasion from Nassau. While Nassau was invading the Xinjiang Protectorate, many uprisings happened all over the Xinjiang Protectorate and occupied Nassau lands. This is the result (keep in mind the Xinjiang Protectorate invaded both mexico and canada, so they were affected as well.):
