Suppose that all the planets align on a quiet Friday the 13th. You wake up to a double rainbow in the sky, and you check the forums to find out that Lukasz has been quietly developing AoH3 for several years, and now he has finally released it for everyone! If that ever comes to pass, then what would you do?

Would you buy it immediately, playing through every scenario and every map that Lukasz included? Would you wait a few days to see if there are any major bugs found or patches released before the game enters your Steam library? Would you, perhaps, wait a long while, expecting massive mods that put the grand in grand strategy? Or would you simply not buy it at all, having lost your faith and trust in Lukasz's abilities as a developer? The development of AoH2 was very time-consuming, and many bugs and glitches remain unpatched. These bugs will most likely persist if AoH3 comes out, as Lukasz may focus solely on AoH3 and disregard the copious amounts of bug reports that AoH2 players have filed over the years.

If you have active mods for AoH2, then there is a much greater dilemma. Do you opt to start on a port for AoH3, setting aside the AoH2 version to allow for 100% effort in the porting process? Do you choose to develop for both games simultaneously, and divide your attention across two separate games within the same series? Or will you stick to AoH2 while the others move on? In theory, it may still be feasible, as AoH2 has fully established itself while AoH3 would still be growing its own community. Perhaps you could wait until enough people have bought AoH3 before starting a port, or you could finish the port and wait for more AoH3 players before release. Whatever your choice is, it is something your playerbase and co-developers will have to follow.

AoH3 may seem like nothing more than a pipe dream. Lukasz has been radio silent for what feels like ages, only checking in for the occasional banning of a spam-bot or troll. But on the off chance that Lukasz is indeed working on AoH3 and is staying silent for reasons that "you wouldn't understand", then I ask you, remnants of the AoH2 community... What will you do if AoH3 comes out?

If the ideologies and flags worked the same way, i would port them all to the new game. I have little hope that it is being made (even though there was an post that Jackowski mentioned that the next game would be an RTS). I don't think it would be compatible to mobile.

By that time the sun would crash into the Earth, remember? We'd all be dead, nobody would be able to play AoH3.

The sun will never crash into the Earth, it will expand and engulf the Earth and many other planets.
