Maybe add ideologies in the tech tree, with the starting date, and ending one, possibly like units. And sort it by democracy level.

Democratic :

  • Democracy ( 2500 B.C - present days )

  • Constitutional monarchy ( 1800 - present days )

  • Census democracy ( 1790 - 1850 )

  • Herrenvolk democracy ( 1860 - 1990 )

  • Liberal democracy ( 1650 - present days )

  • Conservatism democracy ( 1790 - present days )

Non democratic :

  • Theocracy (2500 B.C - present days )

  • Absolute monarchy ( 3100 B.C - present days )

  • Feudalism ( 476 - 1492 )

  • Ancient monarchy ( 2500 b.c - 476 )

  • Fascism ( 1920’s -1975 )

  • Nationalism (1910’s - 1975 )

  • Merchant republic ( 1200 - 1850 )

  • Socialism (1848 - present days )

Others :

  • Communism ( 1870 - present days )

  • Horde ( 2500 B.C - 1700 )

  • Tribal ( 6000 B.C - 1850 )

  • Republic ( 2500 B.C - present days)

  • Anarchism ( 1900 - idk )

Hello Jakowski, I got a bit confused by this image. Would we need to adopt these ideologies to unlock technology, or would our country automatically adopt them? If the latter is the case, it would be beneficial (as with everything you create). However, I believe that incorporating a Left-Right Political System would be even more interesting. I’ve already posted about it on the forum. Here’s the proposal:http://www.ageofcivilizationsgame.com/topic/241408-left-and-right-politics-in-age-of-history-3/

In any case, you remain my favorite dev

If you want to change your government type to communism, you must first reach a level of technology that allows you to adopt communism. That's all

Wow that's actually pretty cool.

I suggest there is a minimum year to unlock a technology. If there isn't, we will start a scenario in the 1100 and unlock tanks in 1600 or something.

I think that's the way it's gonna be 🤔

We don't know yet, it will surely be balanced later

I mean you can balance the game yourself because each map is different at least we can change almost everything in the game

I think Democracy should be far earlier (ancient greece) and tribal also earlier

Certain technologies should only become available after certain dates, that way one civilization can't rush to get future tech while the rest of the world is still medeavil.

Yeah and it should take a long time for you to gain technologies like future weaponry at least up to 2100 AD so there isnt already future military civilizations 1600 or something

It would be more immersive if in the tech tree, when we unlock something like land units or ideologies/government, it brings an event.

Examples :

Communism -----------> some civil wars occur in the world (random)

Fascism/National Socialism -----------> some countries change government to it, and form an alliance (random)

A nations technology level should influence the amount of land it can conceivably govern as well.

Qassam rockets. These can be researched from 1960, and are very cheap to produce, but can only be made when your nation is heavily losing a war. They can be used to damage the enemy's infrastructure and military bases (or optionally civilians if thats what you're into)

I think adding nation specific technology trees, units and maybe even buildings would make sense and would be helpful in making some scenarios
