AOH3 Tutorial Map Cutting with Plugins Using Gimp

Recommended Posts

I'm using Gimp 2.10.34 you need to install 2 Plugins

1st plugin    ofn-layer-tiles.zip

the second  Export Layers

Scale the image in multiples of 2 I made mine 15360x9624 (Your image doesn't have to be this size but make it big for the 3rd game)

  1. First load your image up with gimp I'm using Gimp 2.10.34 and go to Layer->Tiles-> Split tiles by rows and columns

image.png.4a3df35859be3db84e6788d222be9453.png

  1. Choose how many rows and columns you want (This is Important Remove the layerName from it Rename Column 1 and row 1 to 0 and replace the – with _) like this {row0:d}_{column0:d}

  2. Like this then click ok

image.png.ddb7a583e43bdcb71ce3f02033d91955.png

the result will print lots of layer depending on how many tiles you ask

Final step Use the Export Layers plugin to export all layers

image.png.2d21f98e1eaa9fe85fbdee0ac48de3b6.png

Choose where to save all tiles then click export

image.png.cdea6a9f13e05fa758003901d8e4eaa9.png

Move the tiles to mapEditor and main in the editor open up config

the way I do it its easy take the last tile and put it in the config

image.thumb.png.067bd4d3e8c711c023dd474dc1ca596e.png

for this its Y_X so its y is 5 x is 9

the final result will load into the 3 map editor

Try drawing the provinces borders in Gimp on your map, then export them the same way, but the images will be placed in the "background/main/" folder.

This is the second map in the map editor and can be switched by clicking the "X".

I'm going to give it a try

How do I transfer files 0,1,2,3 from Age of history 2 to Age of history 3?

@Łukasz Jakowski

Read: MapEditorSettings.txt file from new Map Editor

CONVERT_AOH2_MAP_PROVINCES_DATA_TO_AOH3=false

########################################################

## To convert a map from AoH2 to the AoH3, put the provinces points file from old mapEditor and name it "convertMapData.txt" in the same folder as mapEditor_2.jar.
## Change value to true: CONVERT_AOH2_MAP_PROVINCES_DATA_TO_AOH3=true
## Open mapEditor_2.jar and click ENTER to save data.

## To export provinces from AoH2 to file Open the AoH2 game. Go to Editor -> Map Editor- > Map -> Edit Connections And Provinces -> and click 'Q'. File will be created in map folder.

## 将值更改为 true: CONVERT_AOH2_MAP_PROVINCES_DATA_TO_AOH3=true
## 打开mapEditor_2.jar,单击 ENTER 保存数据。

## 将省份从 AoH2 导出到文件 打开 AoH2 游戏。转到编辑器 - >地图编辑器 - >地图 - >编辑连接和省份 - >然后单击“Q”。文件将在地图文件夹中创建。

Side note if you want just 1 image to be displayed, change the Map image to 0_0.png

image.png.cdc5b022a4e81173a3fc36ed23eb3622.png

then go to the Config.json file and change Background size to 1 and 1 IT CAN'T BE 0

image.png.aaad75a3422752f9d013507100d85f97.png

then it should display the entire image
