I don't think it is better

This was a major issue in AOH2, please improve it and take a look at HOI4 for reference, for example in the modern world scenario countries like Libya, Algeria, Egypt and many other surrounding countries have terrible name placement, they all look sideways and lopsided and ugly if you compare that to the same text placement in a game like HOI4, with a mod like the modern day mod. It would be a major relief if you managed to make the name placements as straight as possible (and don't curve all over the place, there is also a lot of unnecessary space between letters compared to HOI4, which should not exist, and also leads to inefficient use of space) and as flat as possible, janky name placements make the game feel less immersive to play.
In fact, many countries in AOH2, due to having lack of provinces, don't even show names! Whereas in HOI4, small countries still have names shown even if they have only a few provinces. I think the issue is that the name placement is dependent on the placement of provinces and the number and size of the provinces, so large countries with big provinces will have lopsided placement. Another reason why I think is because the fonts for countries in the game do not have auto-scaling, which is why bigger countries have worse names because they cannot scale to be larger as you can see the difference between Libya's text and Egypt's in the HOI4 screenshot compared to AOH2, where AOH2 has the same text size whereas HOI4's is noticeably smaller for Egypt, this is so that both can better take up more/less space accordingly. If you did something more like HOI4 where the names are straight as much as possible and are primarily placed in the center of the country rather than random, as well as the text being able to be scaled to better account for the size, it would be much better!

Edit: another major issue I think is that the nation name text is afraid to cross over the country's borders/provinces, which means that countries with confined placements like that of Poland/Ottoman in the initial screenshot have text that is very confined whereas if the text was allowed to cross over its own borders and other countries a bit it could properly utilize all of the space efficiently.
