Realize democracy mechanic in AOC3

Recommended Posts

Realize democracy/parliament mechanic in AOC3.

Every democratic country has a parliament. Every 4/6/8 years (that can be changed in the laws section if the player party has more than 50% support or cancel it if >90% support) will be elections. If the player party or player coalition wins, he can change laws and rule the government. Special events can create new parties, boost party support, or downgrade party support. Player will have the ability to create a coalition. With each party, player can improve relations, give money, and do diplomatic actions to create a coalition. Ideologically closer party will have a good relationship and will be easier to create a coalition.
At the start of the game, there will be one ruler party and other parties that have low support. Player can get party support by changing laws, winning a war, choosing the right options in random events, developing a country's GDP, expanding territory, creating puppets/colonies in other nations, or moving up in the leaderboard. For example, if the player has >50% support, he can accept the law to improve working conditions, raising communist popularity. If a player wants to start a war with Casus Beli to get territories he needs more than 65% support, if Casus Beli is colonization he needs more than 45% support.

Player will get random events that boost party popularity, decrease GDP, or destroy constructions. Another type of event will be where the Player needs to choose from the list of options, for example, get party support and lose money or lose party support and get money.

The laws section will have a lot of laws from which players can pick. For example, discrimination against national minorities will downgrade liberals' support and relationships but increase nationalists' support and relationships.

Party relationship can change. Player will have the ability to increase it by winning war, giving money , select action improve the relationship and accepting laws. if Player has more than 60 relationship with the party he can create a coalition. Player party will change to coaltion and he will able to accept laws, declare wars only if both parties support it. If player has more than 85 relationship and he is in coaltion more than 4/6 years he can create new united party that has now no restrictions on accepting laws or other actions.

If a player loses elections he can continue to rule the government but as winner party.

Every party in game has its own bonuses. For example communist party will have factory output bonus, cheaper puppets

Player will able do develop a political technology tree. In the political tree will be laws research, party research, populism and propaganda (which adds renewable decisions to increase party support), party bonuses(increase party bonuses) and political debate(which increase relationship improving).

Currently I came up with these parties and laws :

Parties:
socialist(+5% popularity, +5% stability, +15% factory output, -5%GDP),
nationalists(-25% Casus beli justification, +5% attack and defense on core provinces, -8% improve relationship, -5%GDP),
liberals(+15% stability, +10% improve relationship, +10%GDP, +40% Casus beli),
monarchists(+5% stability, +10% attack, and defense ),
fascists(-45% Casus beli justification, -13% improve relationship, -10%GDP, +10% attack and defense),
conservatives(+20% stability, +15% improve relationship),
capitalists(+20% factory output, -15% Casus beli),
communists(+15% popularity, + 20% factory output),
anarchists(-5% popularity ,-10% stability),
autocrats(+50% popularity , - 30% stability, -10%GDP).

Laws:

Slavery: Need >50% support increases colonies money and resource income, decrease stability. Liberals - 40% support and relationship, Conservatives -25% support and relationship, Nationalists +40% support and relationship, fascists +60% support and relationship

Improved working conditions: Need >45% support increase stability and popularity, decrease GDP. Liberals +5% support and relationship, socialists +35% support and relationship, communists +45% support and relationship, capitalists - 15% support and relationship.

Ban elections: Need >90% otherwise might be a civil war. delete elections, decrease stability. Liberals -60% support and relationship, Conservatives -60% support and relationship.

P.S Not final version of laws and parties

    • Campaign: Small Scenarios
In this topic, share your ideas for Campaign scenarios.

These scenarios focus on a small part of the map, with the rest designated as wasteland.

For example, a scenario of the Reconquista in 1054, where gameplay takes place only on the Iberian Peninsula.

What are your ideas for small historical scenarios?

    • Events - Common events for every civilization in the game
      Hi,
in this topic, I am interested in your ideas for events that can happen for every Civilization in the game.
I'm also interested in Missions for every Civilization.

Here is some example, have more than 10k army, have more than 5000 gold, build 10 buildings, recruit an Advisor, increase tax efficiency 20 times, be largest  producer of some resource in the world, unlock 5 Civilization legacies etc.

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
AoH3 will have different types of land units.

In this topic we will write ideas for new land units.

So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.

Representation of the battlefield in the game.

Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.

Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

Archer -> Bowmen -> Crossbowman -> Elite Crossbowman

Canon -> Field Cannon -> Artillery -> Modern Artillery

Early Airplane -> Airplane -> Modern Airplane

This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?

Or maybe an idea for a new type of unit with upgrades? I'm waiting for your suggestions.
