Age of History 3 - Publisher?

Recommended Posts

I think only if they don't force you to make a lot of paid DLC, don't force you to charge unfair prices, let you with the total creativity for creating the game, help with easier modding and add a multiplayer mode

I wouldn't recommend paradox interactive, they're known for ruining franchises by greed. Although it'd definitely get the game out there, it'd be a massive gamble on if they force you to pump out 40 DLCs or not.

I'd recommend contacting 'Aquila Interactive', you can find them on discord through their current game project 'Gilded Destiny'

A better answer:

If Paradox Interactive will add a multiplayer mod to the game, yes. If they won't add it, no. Cuz they will make just some unnecessary DLC's and a high fee for the game..

I think Lukasz can be a better publisher than Paradox for Age of History 3 because he deals directly with his players' suggestions.

Also, I think you don't understand the importance of multiplayer mod. The game may become boring after a few hours, but with multiplayer it can be played for months or maybe years without getting bored. (see also EU4, HOI4)

If you've actually played any paradox game's multiplayer, it's HORRIBLY buggy. It's been 15 years and they STILL haven't fixed important issues like desync.

Would they accept all of it ? That's the point.

EU4, HOI4)

Yes yes yes

Does Age of History 3 need a publisher? What do you think?

if this means a bunch of DLCs and a super expensive base game, definitely not. Also, are you sure this is even real? This almost looks like someone just trying to leak the game, and it makes me nervous, I think things are fine the way they have been so far. And will you even still have independence over how the game comes out if you do accept this? This doesn't seem worth it, you can build up a large following from your own name as well, not just paradox.

Lukasz, first of all you have to make sure that the mail is from paradox and not fake. And you should not allow any additions to the game without your permission, everything should be under your control. Remember, we loved Age Of History because it was Age Of History and it shouldn't lose that spirit.

with paradox Multiplayer there would probably come a 20 dollar dls for Multiplayer

On the community post most people seem in favour of you accepting, but most people here on the forums seem to say no. Weird.

It's because paraslop isn't a good company.

Well no, they would add it. But it'd cause the game to desync every couple of years.
Lukasz shouldn't go to paraslop to make multiplayer, paraslop can barely make multiplayer work on vic3 and ck3, let alone making multiplayer work on an engine they don't use (java).

If Lukasz wants advice on multiplayer related stuff with java, he should probably go to the people who develop Airships conquer the skies.

Aquila interactive could 100% get sponsors for AOH3 if they're interested.

Looking at this objectively. Maybe yes BUT this seems more weirdly a scam.

Pro is that you get money and stuff that you usually don't have access to. And not like they can force you to make DLCs since mobile and why? HOI4 already makes 10 morbillion from their DLCs aswell as other IPs under their belt. This seems more like a way to extend their influence on the historical tactical strategic RTS genre or something (I do not know what specific genre HOI4 or Victoria 2 are.) Than anything making more money. They'll make more but not their main players. Other than that, you may lose autonomy on your own project so it's best if you ask if you if your development on the project will be intervened on or not.

But this email is just, odd. It gives off a really fishy vibe. So do what you need to do first on checking if this is more of a hook scam.

-Like check the email and if this is the original business email used by Paradox themselves.

-Converse more to see if this person is an actual employee of Paradox interactive. Even look him up and see if he is actually working for Paradox

-Read between the lines for any errors or slip-ups the writer had made.

-And check for any more drills use for scam emails.

Most importantly is be ready if this man is here only to leak the game, reuse the game for his own motives, or something else. Also don't forget that he could give you a trojan in a blink of an eye like a RAT (Remote Access Trojan) or something else worst. Always prepare for the worst. Of course I'm just a kid on your forum but being paranoid is better than being oblivious.

@Łukasz Jakowski, sorry for the ping. Just concerned.

    • Campaign: Small Scenarios
In this topic, share your ideas for Campaign scenarios.

These scenarios focus on a small part of the map, with the rest designated as wasteland.

For example, a scenario of the Reconquista in 1054, where gameplay takes place only on the Iberian Peninsula.

What are your ideas for small historical scenarios?

in this topic, I am interested in your ideas for events that can happen for every Civilization in the game.
I'm also interested in Missions for every Civilization.

Here is some example, have more than 10k army, have more than 5000 gold, build 10 buildings, recruit an Advisor, increase tax efficiency 20 times, be largest  producer of some resource in the world, unlock 5 Civilization legacies etc.

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
AoH3 will have different types of land units.

In this topic we will write ideas for new land units.

So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.

Representation of the battlefield in the game.

Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.

Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

Archer -> Bowmen -> Crossbowman -> Elite Crossbowman

Canon -> Field Cannon -> Artillery -> Modern Artillery

Early Airplane -> Airplane -> Modern Airplane

This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?

Or maybe an idea for a new type of unit with upgrades? I'm waiting for your suggestions.
