Demographics, land

Hello,

Population and land are one of the most important things to rule a country. So I propose to add some features/characteristic and explain how it would work, I try to make them easy :

Ethnicity/Language :

  • Major/Minor ethnic groups :

Ethnic groups are a community or population made up of people who share a common cultural background or descent. We know that groups are already added to categorize civilizations. It's a good start to set ethnic majority groups.  So all you can do is to apply it for provinces, but with a greater diversity, divided into groups.

  • Ethnic distribution :

Each province could handle 3 distinct ethnic groups (to make it simple), they could be shown in 2 mods, a world map of the population of an ethnic group, and a national map of the population of an ethnic group. When an ethnic group is the majority of provinces, the more the color will be opaque. The reverse case is transparent.

  • Ethnic integration (acceptance) :

In history, some ethnic groups were repealed, discriminated against, and segregated. Laws would define whatever if a ethnic group could be integrated in society, with the same, less or no rights as the dominant group(s), but it won't be like that without consequences, like happiness or unrest. Ethnic integration unit is percent.

Faith/religion :

  • Secularism :

I won't add too much but there must be secularism. Not as a religion but as a law, which must be respected. It's not logical to convert religion in 2020's scenarios, not even in some countries in the 1900's, like the separation of the government and the church in France in 1906. Minor religion will stay intact, and the population will stay happy.

  • State Atheism :

It's a similar thing to secularism, in terms of laws applied more likely to communist countries. Religion is not abolished but repressed (depends).

Population :

  • Alphabetization :

Alphabetization is one of the most important things to learn, aside from mathematics and culture, and it's a major factor to grow population efficiency.

  • Population happiness :

Population happiness is already in the game, but it could be improved by relying on army morale. If the country's happiness is low, it will give army morale debuff.

  • Urbanized population :

A province could be mostly urbanized or rural.

An urbanized province brings creation of employment opportunities, technological and infrastructural advancements and the improved transportation and communication and quality educational and medical facilities. A rural province brings more happiness, less unrest and vice versa. Advantage for urbanized provinces would be disadvantages for rural provinces.

The more a province is urbanized, the advantages and disadvantages would be more efficient.

  • Population poverty (rate) :

Population poverty would define the population conditions. If the population is poor, it will give the province income reduction and corruption. (keep it simple). This must be shown for each province.

Land :

  • Land fertility :

Land fertility is important for food production, aside with water advantage.

  • Water advantage :

Some provinces have access to some rivers, sea, lakes and ocean. So it will give a bonus to food and clothes resources productions. The province containing a river is slower to cross, maybe by 60-80%.

  • Law efficiently :

In the topic Laws and Reforms, I proposed to add a system to add more depth to laws. Laws should take time to be imposed. Maybe around 6-12 months. We can adopt a new law/reform only if the law efficiency is above for all provinces more than 80%, which could be attained in 8 months. There could be some negative effects for more radical laws, which could be more likely to have revolts or happiness downfall.

This proposition could be useful for country management and to add more depth.
