They can be grouped too, so assimilation for nationality which are in the same groups as yours, will be reduced, or even be useless. Example : Germany has annexed Luxembourg , since Germans and Luxembourgians are in the same sub-ethnicity, we can have the choice to not build a core, without even having penalties.

I Would love to see Andalusi Culture added as a result of arabic or Moroccan culture empire assimilating spanish romance territory, imagine how cool it would be if in 1440 you can play as granada and revive andalusi romance and language by certain custom events replacing moorish culture, a dynamic culture hybrid system could be nice

Each culture/ethnicity would have a default religion :

Albanian Sunni

Bulgaria : Orthodox

And countries with its culture as the majority :

German : Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein

Korean : North Korea, South Korea

Finally, they could be related to resources.

French : wine

Chinese : tea

I think I will redo a list of cultures, but more detailed, edit the actual one

That's pretty cool, but who will assign this to all the civilizations in the game? (2467 Civilizations, Files)

yeah i guessed that was the reason

you don't have to assign all the cultures to the civs automatically, maybe cultures could be added in the scenario editor to the civilizations, this would fix your issue AND would appease the fanbase, plus maybe you could do that slowly with each update rollout until all of them are done (this would be very hard)

@Łukasz Jakowski thoughts? making the player assign the culture while making the scenario would solve the issue and nobody would complain since that adds way more versatility anyways

Yes, Łukasz attemp to make culture mechanic simpler, but your view on it, way more simpler. It's better than assignening a 2467 countrie's cultures by own hands.

plus maybe he could slowly perma assign cultures to countries slowly using scenarios, an example would be:

assigning culture to modern civs then locking that as their culture

assigning culture to 1440 civs then locking that as their culture

just like religions, not all civs will have assigned culture, and culture can be assigned by the player
