Hallo mein people, this topic is a compilation of my ideas. Starting with: 

Leaders as generals: So leaders (specifically monarchs) should be able to make them selves generals. In their place while they're generals. Their advisor will be leader temporarily. And if they lose a battle there's a 46% chance that they'll pull a Łukasz and die. That will change the leader to "power vacuum"  with only negative effects. 

Supply: There should be more pronounced supply issues, like if you try to cross mountains your divisions will move slower and you'll lose troops, maybe a flank or two. That discourages going through  mountains. [Example: You're china and you try to move your divisions through the Himalayas. Due to it having poor supply and it being amountain range. You go really slow and you loose many troops]. Now let's talk about Russia [stereotypical russian background music] Russia is big and for most of its existence underdevolped, so if the provinces you're  moving through underdeveloped feudal Russia as Hidlers Germany. This makes supplying troops really hard making it so that you lose alot of individual men. That's cause it has low development. 

Raiding and pillaging: Now this ties in with supply, where your troops can "live off the land" via raiding. Pillaging would be what the Japanese did in nanking or what the mongols did (RIP to all those who died at nanking 🕊) 

Leader animosity: (Link) Leader animosity would be how much your people want you to get curbstomped. Just leader animosity  wouldn't  do it. If you're losing a war, the economy is in the toilet  and you pass very authoritarian laws. There's  a very high chance that a REVO-LUTION will start. Will pop up, when leader animosity reaches over 70% theres pretty much a garenteed revolution. And if you suppres an certain ideology  lets say communism there's an increased chance that you'll have ✨️communist revolutionaries✨️.
