OCCUPATION (QUESTION FOR LUKASZ)

Question

Posted (edited)

Soldiers occupying few provinces if there is no defensive buildings. That's a game mechanic

Yes, I understand that, but it increases the difficulty (which would make it cooler) if it had the same occupation mechanics as Age of History 2.

According to my understanding of the new battle system, when a province is fortified, it is not automatically annexed to the enemy.

Yes, I understand, and what I'm saying is that, it doesn't matter that it's not fortified, it would be better (for those who like difficulty and realism) to only be able to occupy the city where you fought.

I do not agree with you, the forts will increase the difficulty of the game and will make you focus on building good defenses, which will increase the burden on the economy because building forts requires maintenance. This system will encourage small countries to defend themselves and will make the game more tactical. Imagine that you occupy several areas that do not contain forts, but when you reach the large cities that contain forts, the battle will be difficult and long because the forts increase the time of occupying the area and give a defensive advantage. Do not forget that there are three buildings that perform the function of forts. You can make your capital very fortified.

Plus 30k provinces map for modders, some would make cities and suburbs two different provinces.

I think that the current map size is very very large and I think that it is a suitable size for all eras . But I'm sure the modders will do a great job because the game is very good and can be modified greatly 🙂
