War triggers - Ideas

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I saw the recent video about WW2, so I think that some event triggers could help:

  • A civilization occupy over X% of B civilization's territory
  • A civilization wins over X battles against B civilization

Examples:

1. German Offesive:

Title: Operation Barbarossa Success.

Simple Description: Axis's Barbarossa Opperation starts successfully, implementing our plan.

Triggers:

  • Axis is at war with Soviet Union
  • Germany wins over 10 battles against Soviet Union
  • Germany occupy over 40% of B civilization's territory.

Outcome 1: Germany annex Byalystok,

Outcome 2: General government annex Lviv,

Outcome 3: Germany create Ostland and Ukraine as Puppets,

Outcome 4: Romania annex Odessa.

2. Soviet counter attack

Title: Operation Uranus Success.

Simple Description: The Soviet's counter offensive Operation Uranus succeded, we can now reintegrate our lost provinces.

Trigger: Soviet wins over 8 battles against Germany

Outcome: Soviet Union annex Ostland and Ukraine.

Additional Event Trigger Ideas:

3. Allied D-Day Offensive

Title: D-Day Success

  • Description: The Allied forces have successfully invaded Normandy, marking the beginning of the end for German occupation in Western Europe.

Triggers:

  • Allied forces (e.g., USA, UK, Canada) must be at war with Germany.
  • Allied forces win 5 consecutive battles in Western Europe (including France or Belgium).
  • Allies occupy at least 20% of German-controlled France.

Outcomes:

  • Liberation of France: France is liberated and reestablished as an independent nation.
  • Allied forces move toward Belgium, weakening German forces.

4. Pacific War - Island Hopping

Title: U.S. Pacific Offensive Success

  • Description: U.S. forces have successfully executed their island-hopping strategy, advancing toward Japan.

Triggers:

  • U.S. must be at war with Japan.
  • U.S. wins 6 consecutive battles in the Pacific (Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Philippines).
  • U.S. controls at least 3 strategic islands in the Pacific (e.g., Midway, Guam, Philippines).

Outcome:

  • U.S. advances toward Japanese home islands, gaining naval and air superiority.
  • Japan’s war exhaustion increases, weakening its ability to resist further attacks.

Other Trigger Concepts:

Government Collapse Events:

  • Trigger: A country loses control over its capital and key cities.
    • Example: Germany collapses if Berlin and major industrial cities are occupied by the Allies.
    • Outcome: The country splinters, and occupied territories become either independent nations or occupied zones (similar to post-WWII Germany).

Cold War Proxies (Post-War):

  • Trigger: Victory in major battles or wars could trigger Cold War-like scenarios.
    • For example, if the U.S. and Soviet Union are competing powers, proxy wars could start in smaller nations, allowing players to indirectly support factions.
