I have few favourites:

1) 1800-1820 because of Napoleonic wars.

2) 1900-2000 because of many interesting events, like WW1, WW2 and Cold War.

High and late middle ages, both form a cultural and political standpoint the most interesting eras from the peak of feudalism to the renaissance to the largest contiguous empire to the longest conflict in history. But for games especially for the amount of nations.

1300s - Bohemia at its peak

1600s - Bohemia had nice borders

1800s -  the fall of the greatest empire the Holy Roman Empire

1914 - Start of the Great War (most interesting event imo)
