Age of History III - What are the purpose of alliances?

Recommended Posts

What purpose do alliances serve in the game? Do alliances grant extra research, manpower, money, resources, etc?

Alliances seem like a natural part of any grand strategy game such as this, watching some of these videos, I can't help but wonder what the benefit of alliances for the side coming to aide. i.e. if my country is being attacked, of course having another country help defend is useful. But what purpose does it serve the player the other way around?

From the materials that are published, I saw two examples of alliances of different types: “Holy Roman Empire” and “Shogunate” / “Empire of Japan”

In the first case, we are dealing with an alliance with economic reforms and unification in the end into one state.

Secondly, this is a defensive alliance. Daimyos are fighting each other
but together they will repel invasions of the archipelago.

There may be more types of alliances and already built-in examples. I would be interested to see the Comintern and the UN
