Taking provinces from an allies bug

Recommended Posts

After this is allowed I am not required to destroy allies wich means I can eat up allies of my enemy even if I didnt touch their land. It leads to exploits like -> I want to destroy Bohemia lets say. They are allied to mainz for example. I stack up armies in mainz and immediately kill them off and war is won, I can eat up bohemia.

Remember, only a human Player is allowed to take Ally's territories, not the AI. That's why on the other hand, we can turn a blind eye on this "BUG", which may be just a seen as a feature by some players xD xD

Yes, but NOT being able to take allies provinces is a bug in itself, when it has happened in history? In my opinion it should be a default (look at any paradox strategy) but if Łukasz decided to not dive us the opportunity by default, it should be correctly implemented by the Game modifier that changes it

I didn't quite catch  what you just wrote. Can you write it again, using other words...
You can take allies territories. You start war with Bohemia, his ally is Mainz.  You win war against Bohemia, you can take all of Mainz provinces, only if you have enough war points to do it. Nevertheless if you feel this would be cheating, because you never touched Mainz in the first place, you can always decide not to do it. SO i  don't understand what you exactly mean ?

If you ask why AI Ally cannot take provinces like the human player can. It is because of the Border-Gore issue.

I don't think so. I think it's very good that you can't take enemy provinces by default

So what? Not everything Paradox does is good

I meant that I want to actually take things from bohmia but if I were to attack them I would be killed off, I instead attacked their ally, quickly destroying them, and took 1/3 of bohemia with almost no fighting

Exactly, you face your own decision. Do you want to exploit this mechanic or not. If you exploit it then you make your game less challenging, but if it suits your dreams and wants, then everythings 10/10. If you want your gameplay to have some challenge, then don't exploit it and take provinces from Bohemia, when you actually can really face them.

I just do not understand why everything in this community is "play as said and shut up". I have been playing second game since it came out and even some of first game too. There are some other things in this game that does not make sense, I understand that game was released week ago and hasn't been quite polished yet but why bad mechanics are not agnowledged as bad and are not changed. Why when asked a very valid question "Why I cant annex my own vassal" we get an answer "Declare war on it". Your answer is the same as Łukash'es "Go as intended" and not "Yes this is incorrect" I do understand that this is a game and we can do whatever we want, but please, second one, being much smaller game, managed to handle a lot of mechanics much more flexible.

Diplomacy in general is terrible, specifically vassals. Why they can have their own alliances, go to war with other nations without my participation/approval, lose those wars etc. etc.

@RussllIf you look into my profile. Myself included as you have reported some bugs. And not happy about some mechanics too. I  will never tell you "play as said and shut up".
But you have to consider (as a heavy factor) the fact that the game is one week old, as you said. That's why I am more tolerant for now. Because, there has been a lot of stuff reported for the last week. I don't know what is the developer plan for resolving this issues.
"Why I can't annex vassals" Hey, I am also not happy about this fact and reported it myself too. I am waiting for an answer as you too. Moreover your Puppet States/Vassals can declare war on you(even with signed non-agression pact!!!!!!), when they have an Ally who declares war on you. Although my Vassal has 0% liberty desire. Which is absurd. AFTER the war is over, for no reason, my vassal is free. No guarantee for independence, no desire to be liberated, yet he is freed from his Lord. Which is just broken.

So, don't worry I don't defend, I am just taking into an account that the game is still very very fresh. So, I am keeping quiet for now and just reporting things which completly make no sense.
On your issue, atleast you can choose to exploit or not, there is freedom there. But the Vassal declaring war on you with signed non-agression pact is just absurd and game breaking.

Lukasz is trying to aim higher with AoH3. If the problems that you, other players and me, are fixed. Then AoH3 will become even more flexible and deeper game than the previous ones. Plus beautiful to look at.  And this is not so far away to be honest. If he keeps updating the game one year or so. It will be polished for almost everyone to be happy.

By the way you can forbidden your Vassals to declare wars.
(you can find this option in the menu where you decide how money and manpower to take from them)

    • Campaign: Small Scenarios
In this topic, share your ideas for Campaign scenarios.

These scenarios focus on a small part of the map, with the rest designated as wasteland.

For example, a scenario of the Reconquista in 1054, where gameplay takes place only on the Iberian Peninsula.

What are your ideas for small historical scenarios?

    • Events - Common events for every civilization in the game
      Hi,
in this topic, I am interested in your ideas for events that can happen for every Civilization in the game.
I'm also interested in Missions for every Civilization.

Here is some example, have more than 10k army, have more than 5000 gold, build 10 buildings, recruit an Advisor, increase tax efficiency 20 times, be largest  producer of some resource in the world, unlock 5 Civilization legacies etc.

    • Land units - Ideas AoH3
AoH3 will have different types of land units.

In this topic we will write ideas for new land units.

So the AoH 3 will have new battle system.

Representation of the battlefield in the game.

Land units will be grouped into 3 types. Each unit will have a different recruitment cost, attack, defense, movement speed and upkeep.

Groups determine the placement of units on the battlefield.

Each unit can be unlocked by researching technology and then upgraded.

Here is the current list of units with upgrades:

      First line:

Warrior -> Light Footmen -> Heavy Infantry -> Infantry -> Line Infantry -> Modern Infantry

Hoplites -> Spearmen -> Pikeman -> Elite Pikeman -> Musketeer -> Riflemen -> Mechanized Infantry -> Modern Mechanized Infantry

      First line side:

Horseman -> Elite Horseman -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Tank

      Second line:

Archer -> Bowmen -> Crossbowman -> Elite Crossbowman

Canon -> Field Cannon -> Artillery -> Modern Artillery

Early Airplane -> Airplane -> Modern Airplane

This is a very early version, so maybe something should be changed?

Or maybe an idea for a new type of unit with upgrades? I'm waiting for your suggestions.
