Can't control conquered country

Hi

I am currently playing as Ireland, I have conquered England 😀 and they have nothing left, I control 100% of it. In AoC1 I would not be able to recruit new soldiers at this point but in AoC2 I can't. The English areas are still stripped like they are in-dispute, what is going on ?

But if I have taken over a country via war, why would a peace deal be needed. None the less I will try this. One other thing, if I just half take over a country, some Provence, I lose these once peace is agreed, how do I keep what I conquered ?

It depends on the size of your country. The bigger you are, the more you can take. at least I think it works like that

Okay, so see attached image, I have just taken over Portugal, what do I select if I want to now fully control Portugal so I can recruit in Portugal. As you can see I also took over UK and Iceland but I can't recruit in those countries.

Click on portugal  province to demand it in peace. If they accept you will get the province.

You can´t recruit in England because they are your vassal

What if they dont accept though ? Also do the stars have anything to do with it ?

Every province has a value (that's the stars)

If you win war with 100% they always accept (I guess) if you win with less than 100% it depends on other factors which are unknown for me
